Polio Case

Among the many cases Benedict Morelli had won, there was a case that dated back to 1979, and it took until 2011 to settle. A woman had taken her five-month old baby daughter to the doctor's for a second dose of an oral polio vaccine. The baby's father was recovering from recent hand surgery. While diapering his daughter, he got some of the baby's stool on the back of his hand and contracted paralytic polio. The man is confined to a wheelchair. The case was not filed until 1981 with another law firm. The case went all the way to the New York Court of Appeals. After 30 years, the case ended up on the desk of Benedict Morelli.
